Together

Together we Grow is not a slogan about us

The baby grows, the family grows, and the people who buy from us grow with it. That last part only means something if there is somewhere for those people to actually be, and if what happens there is not us selling.

Four things, all of them small enough that two people can genuinely run them.

One

Stage circles, by birth month

Forty parents whose children were born in the same month, on WhatsApp, because that is where Dutch and Spanish parents already are and nobody needs another app.

Why by month and not by product

Because the only comparison that helps is a child the same age. A group of people who own the same bib has nothing to talk about after ten minutes.

Capped at forty

Above roughly forty people a group stops being a conversation. When one fills we open the next and the first one stays as it is.

We are members, not hosts

No brand voice, no announcements, no discount codes. If a circle asks us to leave, we leave and the circle keeps going without us.

What actually gets discussed

Sleep, teeth, refusing food, going back to work, and which of the expensive things turned out to be nonsense. Including ours, and that is the point.

One rule

Nobody sells anything, us included. The first person to post an affiliate link is removed, and that will be us if it is us.

Join your month

You do not have to have bought anything. Two fields, and we will not add you to anything else.

Your number is used for the invite and nothing else. No broadcast list, no marketing messages, and you can leave without telling us why.

Two

Parent testers, before anything is made twice

Pre-production samples

Fifty families get the version we have not committed to yet, free, with no obligation to say anything nice about it.

Their words on the product page

Not as testimonials. As findings: nine of eleven babies reached for the flatter spoon, so the flatter spoon is the one we made.

Including the failures

If a sample is rejected by most of the babies it goes in the bin and the write-up goes on the dossier page. That is the most useful thing we will publish all year.

Three

Built where you can watch

Being small is only an advantage if we use it. A large brand cannot publish a rejected supplier or a mistake in a batch, because eleven departments would have to agree first. We can publish it the same afternoon.

Two short video series, in the voices we actually have: what is in it, where we take one product apart and read its report out loud, and a gentle Montessori series for the children themselves with a crab who takes everything far too seriously.

Every fortnight

One thing we learned, one thing we got wrong. Written by whichever of us has time, signed by name.

The factory, on film

Not a glossy brand film. A phone, the actual floor, the actual mixing, and the parts they would rather we skipped.

A rejection, in full

The supplier, the reason, and what it cost us to walk away. Named where we are legally able to name them.

The numbers

What a set costs to make, ship, test and sell, and what we keep. Once we have real invoices instead of estimates.

Four

Send it back when they outgrow it

Silicone lasts far longer than a child needs it. The honest problem is that it is difficult to recycle through a normal municipal system, so leaving that to you is the easy way out.

The plan is a prepaid envelope with every order. When your child is done, send the pieces back and we handle the recycling route ourselves and tell you where they went. Nothing is resold as new, and nothing that has been in a child's mouth goes to another child.

We have not solved the logistics yet and we will not put a leaf icon on the site until we have. When it works, this paragraph gets replaced by how it works.
