The stages

Six chapters, and where we honestly are

Six stages between birth and two, described as plainly as we can. These are descriptions of what children tend to be doing, drawn from public developmental guidance. They are not claims about what our products will achieve.

Phase one of the range covers roughly four to twelve months. Two of the six chapters below are marked as ours, four are not yet. We would rather show you the gap than fill it with something we do not make.

Sense & soothe

Contrast before colour, weight before shape. The world is being mapped and the map is mostly you.

Nothing from us for this stage today. Phase two grows the range by age, and wood joins silicone there.

Stage 04 · 10–12 months

Pull & stand

The world turns vertical. Reaching for the table is suddenly the main event.

Walk & wonder

Balance, carrying, the world at knee height. Everything is a question asked with the hands.

Speak & share

Feeding themselves, naming things, wanting to do it alone. Independence finds a voice.

Where this comes from

Our sources, and our limits

The stage descriptions above are our plain-language summaries of publicly available developmental milestone guidance. We are two parents who read carefully, ask professionals, and design to what a child is doing. We do not run studies and we will not write sentences that suggest we do.

Children vary enormously and none of this is advice about your child. If something worries you, the person to ask is your own doctor or clinic, not a shop.

When we start citing specific research and specific specialists by name, they will be named on this page with a date, and we will have asked their permission first. Until then, treat the above as what it is: careful reading by two people who care a great deal and know their own limits.
